She championed common sense legislative priorities, presented to Pinellas Delegation, advocated in Tallahassee and was able to have local priorities incorporated into Florida School Boards Association's Legislative Platform and the Greater Florida Consortium of School Boards' Legislative Program.
Caprice has provided great leadership and has publicly opposed issues related to vague and inconsistent policies and practices, discrimination, unsafe conditions and more. Her advocacy over the years has changed policies and procedures as well as improved relationships and student achievement.
Caprice has ascended to leadership of the Greater Florida Consortium of School Boards. She is the first African American President and will be the longest serving President.
The Consortium advocates legislatively for Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Manatee, Miami- Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach, Pinellas and Sr. Lucie counties. She has planned and facilitated meetings, spoke with legislators, obtained additional partnerships and more.
Caprice believes that cultivating partenerships in the best interest of students and our community is vital -- whether the partnership is large or small. She has supported the life changing work of Pinellas Education Foundation in collaboration with Pinellas County Schools.
